Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch" -
Date: Sat, 8 May 2021 23:45:45 +0100

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate level. The target region has now been designated as NOAA 12822 and is classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. This region has produced two C-class flares since the last message, with the largest being a C8.6 on 8-May-2021 at 18:22 UT. The current MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue for at least another 24 hours because the negative spot to the South East of the primary positive spot appears to be merging penumbrae with a small positive spot. Further C-class activity is expected in the following 24 hours, with a good chance for another M-class flare.
The position of NOAA 12822 on 8-May-2021 at 22:00 UT is:
N18E58 , ( -768", 322" )
