Subject: MM#003 Major Flare Watch" -
Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2014 18:01:38 +0000

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,

The current level of solar activity is moderate. Yesterday's  target (NOAA 11974) has continued to emerge flux, showing rapidly moving spots in its intermediate portion that have resulted in a highly sheared polarity-separation line and a sizable mixed-polarity spot at its center. Since the last message, the region was responsible for high C-class and low M-class activity, with the largest event being a M1.8 flare on 11-Feb-2014 at 16:51 UT. As the last three events have steadily increased in magnitude, a Major Flare Watch is now in effect (due to the significant chance for a >M.5 flare in the following 24 hours). Further M-class activity is expected, with a significant chance for a major flare.

The position of NOAA 11974 on 11-Feb-2014 at 18:00 UT is: S13E02, ( -34", -108" )
